Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Rooted in Scripture and shaped by the teachings of Jesus\, this gathering calls the Church to joyful worship and faithful justice. \nOn this MLK commemorative weekend\, we remember Dr. King first and foremost as a Christian pastor whose commitment to nonviolence\, human dignity\, and justice flowed from deep biblical conviction\, prayer\, and love of neighbor. As we worship together across lines of race and ethnicity\, we also bring before God the present realities facing immigrant neighbors in Minnesota—especially lawful immigrants and families experiencing fear\, separation\, and harm amid aggressive immigration enforcement. \nReflecting our beliefs that every person is made in the image of God and deserves respect and dignity\, and that due process and the rule of law are essential to justice\, we carry forward King’s nonviolent commitment—uniting across racial and ethnic lines\, lamenting injustice\, and embodying Christ’s reconciling love so that our worship becomes faithful justice that brings glory to God. \nThis night of worship will include Scripture\, song\, prayer\, and reflection\, inviting Christians to carry forward Dr. King’s biblically grounded\, nonviolent legacy into our present moment. As we worship with joy and unity\, we bear witness to a justice the world cannot manufacture—one shaped by Scripture\, sustained by love\, and anchored in the reconciling power of the gospel. \nCome worship. Come pray. Come stand together as the body of Christ. \n  \nTo learn how your church can partner with this event\, email our Program & Event Coordinator\, Brie Brown\, at brie@transformmn.org. \n[/vc_column_text][vc_empty_space height=”75px”][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row ct_row_stretch=””][vc_column][vc_tta_tabs shape=”square” color=”black” active_section=”1″ title=”Registration”][vc_tta_section tab_id=”1706736189029-43daa620-19a9″ title=”Registration”][vc_column_text]\nThe MLK Worship Gathering is a free event\, however let us know that you’re coming here so we can plan accordingly! \n[/vc_column_text][/vc_tta_section][vc_tta_section title=”FAQ” tab_id=”1562098972329-730ba762-c5f8″][vc_column_text]\nFAQ \n\nHow much does it cost to attend the worship gathering? \nThis is a free event! \n\nWill there be childcare available? \nChildren are welcome\, but there is no childcare. \n\nWhere can I park? \nThere is a parking lot available adjacent to the church. \n\nWill there be refreshments? \nAfter the worship gathering there will be a time of fellowship with light refreshments & drinks. \n\n[/vc_column_text][/vc_tta_section][/vc_tta_tabs][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row ct_row_stretch=””][vc_column][/vc_column][/vc_row]

SUMMARY:Faith Over Division
DESCRIPTION:[vc_row ct_row_stretch=””][vc_column][vc_column_text]\nFaith Over Division \nRejecting violence. Renewing our witness. Uniting the Chuch \nOctober 27\, 2025 | 6:30 pm – 8:30 pm \nLocation: Greater Friendship Missionary Baptist Church \n2600 E 38th Street\, Minneapolis\, MN 55406 \n  \nWhat once seemed unthinkable in Minnesota has now become a sobering reality—a political assassination of a state representative and a tragic school shooting within our own state. Beyond Minnesota\, the picture is just as troubling: the killing of a political activist\, an attempted assassination of the President\, a break-in at the Governor of Pennsylvania’s home\, a plot to kidnap the Governor of Michigan – and the list goes on. Together\, these events leave us asking: How did we get here? Why does it seem that more and more people see violence as the only answer to disagreement? \nAs our communities and our nation grieve and search for a way forward\, we believe the Church has a deeper role to play – helping believers move beyond confusion and sorrow into meaningful action. We must learn to engage across political and ideological lines with Christlike love rather than mirroring the division around us. We must learn to engage our neighbors with a humble\, faithful witness rather than responding in outrage to those who disagree with us. We must actively contribute to a future where such violence no longer finds fertile ground. \nThe Twin Cities AND Campaign Chapter is hosting an important gathering this October in partnership with the AND Campaign’s national team. Founder and Executive Director Justin Giboney will help us understand the connection between harmful political rhetoric and increased division and violence\, and learn to embody the Gospel with humility and conviction in our civil discourse. \nWe will also hear from a panel of local leaders who will share how political division impacts their work in the public square\, and how their faith compels them to call the Church toward greater unity. \nTogether with several local churches and ministries\, we aim to create space for an honest conversation about the rise of harmful political rhetoric and its connection to increasing political violence. \n *Free event — registration is required. Optional $10 donation supports the And Campaign. \n*The viewpoints of the speakers in this event are their own and don’t necessarily reflect that of Transform Minnesota \n[/vc_column_text][vc_separator][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row ct_row_stretch=””][vc_column]\n \n \n \n Register\n \n \n \n \n \n\n \n \n \n \n \n SPEAKERS\n \n \n \n \n \n\n \n \n \n \n \n FAQ\n \n \n \n \n \n\n \n \n \n [vc_column_text][/vc_column_text][vc_btn title=”Click to Register!” style=”classic” color=”green” size=”lg” align=”center” button_block=”true” link=”url:https%3A%2F%2FFaithOverDivision.eventbrite.com|target:_blank”]\n \n \n [vc_column_text]\nOUR SPEAKERS \nJustin Giboney|AND Campaign\nJustin Giboney is an attorney\, political strategist\, and ordained minister in Atlanta\, GA. DESCRIPTION:[vc_row ct_row_stretch=””][vc_column][vc_column_text]\n Thriving Discipleship for Same-Sex Attracted Christians\n \nOctober 9\, 2025  |  9:00 am – 12:00 pm \nCost: $25 \nHope Presbyterian Church \n7132 Portland Avenue\,  Richfield\,  MN  55423 \nPastoring Christians who experience same-sex attraction requires wisdom\, compassion\, and a gospel-centered approach that honors both biblical truth and resonates with lived realities. This half-day leadership gathering is designed to equip pastors and church leaders to disciple these brothers and sisters well—helping them grow in faithful obedience while navigating complex questions of identity and sexuality.  \nThis event features teaching from Art Pereira\, Director of Ministries and Events for Revoice. As a same-sex attracted man committed to celibacy due to his biblical convictions\, Art will lead our dialogue with lived experience\, offering us practical experience. Attendees will also hear testimonies and reflections from multiple Christians who experience same-sex attraction and have found meaningful discipleship and belonging in churches committed to biblical teaching. These stories provide valuable insight into how churches can grow in hospitality\, pastoral care\, and faithful formation that resonates with all members of the body of Christ.  \nThe gathering concludes with an introduction to Resonate—a new leadership cohort designed to equip pastors and ministry leaders with a vision for practical\, relational discipleship\, led by Christians who experience same-sex attraction and follow a historic Christian sexual ethic.  \nTeam Deal: Just $50 covers your group of 2 or more![/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row ct_row_stretch=””][vc_column][vc_empty_space height=”50px”][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row ct_row_stretch=””][vc_column][vc_tta_tabs style=”modern” shape=”square” color=”black” active_section=”1″][vc_tta_section title=”Registration” tab_id=”1562163641168-5bc3330e-434f”][vc_column_text]\nREGISTRATION \n\n[/vc_column_text][vc_btn title=”Click Here to Register” color=”green” size=”lg” align=”center” button_block=”true” link=”url:https%3A%2F%2Fwww.eventbrite.com%2Fe%2F1657587923099%3Faff%3Doddtdtcreator|target:_blank”][vc_column_text][/vc_column_text][/vc_tta_section][vc_tta_section title=”Speakers” tab_id=”1562163491765-eb018353-b2e8″][vc_column_text]\nSPEAKERS \n  \nArt Pereira | Director of Ministries and Events at Revoice \nArt Pereira is a community builder\, church trainer and minister who is passionate about helping the local church provide practical support for the eternal ways of Jesus. SUMMARY:Trauma Healing Group + Initial Facilitator Training
DESCRIPTION:[vc_row ct_row_stretch=””][vc_column][vc_column_text]\nHEALING GROUP + INITIAL FACILITATOR TRAINING \nNovember 6 – November 9\, 2024 \nLocation: Autumn Ridge Church\, Rochester\, MNTime:  9:00 am – 5:00 pm \nTrauma Healing Healing Group + Initial Facilitator Training  \nA Healing Group + Initial Facilitator Training combines the small-group experience of a Healing Group with the training of an Initial Facilitator Training into one event. While this is a more intensive time commitment\, participants have the benefit of experiencing a Healing Group and moving directly into the Initial Facilitator Training.   \nNovember 6 & 7 – Healing Group \nThe first two days of this training (November 6 & 7) include the experience of participating in a Trauma Healing small group. Healing Groups are safe\, multi-session small groups led by certified facilitators. In these groups\, people with heart wounds can come together to find healing\, engage with scripture\, learn to feel safe\, and know they are valued. This small-group experience is also helpful for those who walk closely with others who must cope with trauma and losses\, both big and small.  \nAdult healing groups are meant for those ages 18 and older and are not intended to be a replacement for professional mental health care.  \nIn this group\, you’ll learn:  \n\nWhat the Bible says about suffering \nExplore any trauma or loss you may be carrying \nHelp you get unstuck\, reconnected\, and ready to move on in life \nand more! \n\nNovember 8 & 9 – Initial Facilitator Training \nDays three and four of the training (November 8 & 9) will be the Trauma Healing Initial Facilitator Training. Participants will be trained in biblical and mental health principles related to trauma care. The Trauma Healing Initial Facilitator Training is designed to be experiential and participatory.   \nCertification as a Trauma Healing facilitator is based on demonstrated skills in the five core competencies:  \n\nAble to facilitate in a participatory way  \nAble to work on a team  \nAble to help traumatized people  \nKnowledge of the materials \nAble to manage personal well-being.  \n\n*While certification is not a guarantee\, most people will gain valuable skills in trauma care for both themselves and others through attending this training.  \n Necessary Qualifications:  \n\nMust have completed participation in a Healing Group \nAble to attend each day of the training (certificates will only be granted to full attendees)   \nFluent in English   \nAt least 18 years old   \nCommitted to help trauma survivors and able to dedicate 2 weeks per year to trauma healing   \nAble to teach others\, manage own wellbeing\, work on a team\, and learn to lead groups in a participatory way   \nIt is suggested\, but not required\, that you attend the training with someone else from your organization\, church\, or area with whom you could co-lead healing groups in the future (if certified)  \n\nThe cost of the combined Healing Group with Facilitator Training is $189 (That is a $49 savings if signed up for seperately). If you have already been through a Healing Group and wish to only sign up for the Initial Facilitator Training\, the cost is $149.  When registering for the Initial Facilitator Training\, you will not be charged until your registraion has been approved by the Master Facilitator.  The registration is a “request” to attend. \nQuestions may be emailed to our Event Coordinator at becky@transformmn.org[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row ct_row_stretch=””][vc_column][vc_empty_space height=”75px”]\n \n \n \n Speaker\n \n \n \n \n \n\n \n \n \n \n \n Registration\n \n \n \n \n \n\n \n \n \n \n \n Location\n \n \n \n \n \n\n \n \n \n \n \n Training Options\n \n \n \n \n \n\n \n \n \n [vc_column_text]\n\nRACHEL UTHMANN |  TRAUMA HEALING FACILITATOR WITH AMERICAN BIBLE SOCIETY \n\nRachel’s 20 years of work with refugees and other displaced people in Europe and North America has given her a passion for caring well for people who have survived deep pain and loss. SUMMARY:Trauma Healing Convening Session
DESCRIPTION:[vc_row ct_row_stretch=””][vc_column][vc_column_text]\nTRAUMA HEALING CONVENING SESSION – Rochester\, MN \nWhen:  Thursday\, September 19\, 2024  |  11:00 am – 1:30 pm \nLocation:  Autumn Ridge Church\n \n3611 Salem Road SW\, Rochester\, MN  55902 \n  \nHumans experience painful events throughout our lives. The Trauma Healing Initiative can help churches care for the wounds of people in their congregations and communities with biblical wisdom and solid principles from Christian mental health practitioners.  \n  \nThe burdens of sin\, grief\, pain\, and sorrow transcend nationality\, gender\, age\, class\, and race. These experiences leave us with wounds known as trauma\, affecting our minds\, bodies\, spirits\, and relationships.   \n  \nAs ambassadors of reconciliation God invites His people to be agents of healing and hope in their families and communities. Using biblical principles and mental health best practices\, the American Bible Institute’s Healing the Wounds of Trauma program offers anyone who has experienced pain the chance to begin a healing journey in a safe\, small-group community.  \n  \nThis Convening session is intended for pastors\, ministry leaders\, and people who are prepared to gather others and invite them into a healing journey. Join us to hear more about the background of this healing program and to experience a taste of the small group curriculum for yourself. After the Convening you will:   \n  \n\nUnderstand how the Trauma Healing curriculum is responding to the need for healing in the church. \n\n\nUnderstand the commitment a church makes when they choose to partner in this work. \n\n\nKnow how to identify leaders who may be able to facilitate healing groups in your community. \n\n  \n“The combination of Biblical understanding and mental health best practices really made the Trauma Healing Institute training stand out as unique.” – Anonymous  \n*The Trauma Healing Initiative is a program of the American Bible Society[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row ct_row_stretch=””][vc_column][vc_empty_space height=”75px”]\n \n \n \n Speakers\n \n \n \n \n \n\n \n \n \n \n \n Registration\n \n \n \n \n \n\n \n \n \n \n \n Location\n \n \n \n \n \n\n \n \n \n [vc_column_text]\nRACHEL UTHMANN | TRAUMA HEALING FACILITATOR WITH THE AMERICAN BIBLE SOCIETY \nRachel’s 20 years of work with refugees and other displaced people in Europe and North America has given her a passion for caring well for people who have survived deep pain and loss. SUMMARY:Juneteenth Worship Gathering
DESCRIPTION:[vc_row ct_row_stretch=””][vc_column][vc_column_text]\nJuneteenth Worship Gathering \nWednesday\, June 19th\, 2024\nGreater Friendship Missionary Baptist Church \n2600 E 38th St\, Minneapolis\, MN 55406 \n  \nJuneteenth is a combination of the words “June” and “Nineteenth” and celebrates Union troops arriving in Galveston Bay\, Texas with news of freedom. While many of us learned that enslaved people were freed when President Lincoln enacted the Emancipation Proclamation in 1863\, news of the Emancipation Proclamation did not reach all enslaved people until June 19\, 1865.  \nJuneteenth is a day of remembrance; a day to commit to working towards dignity\, unity\, and equality for all people.  \nPlease join Transform Minnesota and a group of churches across Minnesota for a community worship night commemorating and celebrating Juneteenth!   \nThis inspiring night of worship and prayer will be hosted by Greater Friendship Missionary Baptist Church and led by a multiracial group of leaders.  \nConnect with a diverse group of believers as we honor the history of Juneteenth and the ongoing journey toward racial justice.  \nDiscover the promise and vision for what we can do together as Christians when we are equipped and mobilized to continue building a community of healing and reconciliation!  \n“By acknowledging June 19 as a reminder of hope\, the American Church can lead in the process of America’s healing. This is the work of the Church – to bring people together\, following the example of Jesus and his teachings. If we truly want healing – healing in our hearts\, healing in our communities\, healing in our nation\, and yes\, even\, or perhaps especially\, healing in our churches and denominations – we must acknowledge\, lament\, and confess the sins of our past so we can lock arms across all divisions and differences and do the work that Jesus died for and that God calls us to: to love one another.” – Elder Sharon Richards\, Oak Hills Baptist Church\, Folsom\, CA [/vc_column_text][vc_empty_space height=”75px”][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row ct_row_stretch=””][vc_column][vc_tta_tabs shape=”square” color=”black” active_section=”1″ title=”Registration”][vc_tta_section tab_id=”1706736189029-43daa620-19a9″ title=”Registration”][vc_column_text]\nThe Juneteenth Worship Gathering is a free event & no registration is required.  Feel free to invite friends & just show up! \n[/vc_column_text][/vc_tta_section][vc_tta_section title=”FAQ” tab_id=”1562098972329-730ba762-c5f8″][vc_column_text]\nFAQ \n\nHow much does it cost to attend the worship gathering? \nThis is a free event!  No Registration is required. \n\nWill there be childcare available? \nYour children are welcome\, but there will be not be childcare available. \n\nWhere can I park? \nFree on street parking is available.  We strongly encourage you to consider carpooling. \n\nWill there be refreshments? \nAfter the worship gathering\, there will be a time of fellowship with light refreshments & drinks. \n\n[/vc_column_text][/vc_tta_section][/vc_tta_tabs][/vc_column][/vc_row]

SUMMARY:Civic Revival
DESCRIPTION:[vc_row ct_row_stretch=””][vc_column][vc_column_text]\nCivic Revival: Engage Your Neighbors (&) Approach the Polls from a Biblical Perspective \nwith Justin Giboney & Kaitlyn Schiess \nMay 16\, 2024 | 9:00 am – 4:00 pm \nLocation: Cedar Valley Church \nCost: $109/person\, group and student rates available \n  \nIn a country deeply divided by partisan allegiances\, Christians must unite around a vision for civic engagement that embraces principles derived from scripture rather than party ideology. By elevating biblical principles\, we can rise above bitter discourse and division to unite for the flourishing of our society.   \nMany are facing exhaustion from the volatility of previous election cycles and wondering whether they should continue to pay attention or attempt to engage. It is because of this reality that we must rest in and rely on the strength of Christ as we continue to move forward with courage and courtesy in his name.  \nAs the kingdom of God breaks into the world\, Christians are called to engage in public life. We do not do this to battle our culture or assert our power\, but because we care about the things God cares for and the things that affect our neighbors. By recognizing the role faith plays in our public life\, we can unite under agreed biblical principles even when we disagree on specific policies or directions.  \nJoin us as Justin Giboney and Kaitlyn Schiess lead us in building a biblical approach to political engagement with compassion and conviction. Additional speakers will help us work through a biblical approach to numerous issues\, including: \n– Sanctity of life & human dignity\n– Immigration\n– Racial justice\n– Religious freedom\n– and more! \nBring your whole team!  Group discounts are available. \n  \nPodcast live recording:  \nJoin us at Cedar Valley Church on May 16 at 7:00 PM for a live recording of The Church Politics Podcast with Justin Giboney and Chris Butler.  Registration is free\, but required to attend. \nTo register\, click the “Yes I’m coming to the recording” checkbox in your conference registration.[/vc_column_text][vc_empty_space][vc_empty_space][vc_column_text][/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row ct_row_stretch=””][vc_column]\n \n \n \n Register\n \n \n \n \n \n\n \n \n \n \n \n SPEAKERS\n \n \n \n \n \n\n \n \n \n \n \n FAQ\n \n \n \n \n \n\n \n \n \n [vc_column_text][/vc_column_text][vc_btn title=”Click to Register!” style=”classic” color=”green” size=”lg” align=”center” button_block=”true” link=”url:https%3A%2F%2Fwww.eventbrite.com%2Fe%2Fcivic-revival-compassion-conviction-in-political-engagement-tickets-846016055797|target:_blank”]\n \n \n [vc_column_text]\nOUR SPEAKERS \nJustin Giboney|President & Co-Founder of the AND Campaign\nJustin Giboney is an attorney\, political strategist\, and ordained minister in Atlanta\, GA. SUMMARY:A Community of Belonging: Sexuality & Gender Beyond Personal Identity
DESCRIPTION:[vc_row ct_row_stretch=””][vc_column][vc_column_text]\n Community of Belonging: Sexuality & Gender Beyond Personal Identity\n \nFebruary 22\, 2024  |  9:00 am – 4:00 pm \nCalvary Lutheran Church \n7520 Golden Valley\, Golden Valley\,  MN  55427 \nCan we as a church have a new conversation about sexuality and gender? Can we follow the truth of Christ without leaving stragglers to fend for themselves in search of identity and belonging? To discover the truths about sexuality and gender and to heal our communities\, we need to rediscover the longings for connection with God and each other that are embedded not just in our souls\, but in our very bodies.  \nAt this one-day conference\, topics will cover a span of what sexuality and gender mean in the life of the church\, including the theological and communal significance of the body\, the flourishing of women in church and society\, Christian belonging for singles and sexual minorities\, as well as a diverse set of practical workshops by local-leaders on topics like desire\, purity\, community\, and kinship.  \nWe hope to reimagine and revive the Church’s witness as a healthy and flourishing family that looks increasingly like Jesus!   \nRegister Now!    \nToday through December 31\, 2023  $95 \nJanuary 1\, 2024 – February 15\, 2024 $109 \nBring your team!  Buy 3 Get 1 Free[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row ct_row_stretch=””][vc_column][vc_empty_space height=”50px”][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row ct_row_stretch=””][vc_column][vc_tta_tabs style=”modern” shape=”square” color=”black” active_section=”1″][vc_tta_section title=”Speakers” tab_id=”1562163491765-eb018353-b2e8″][vc_column_text]\nSPEAKERS \n  \nDr. Greg Coles|  Senior Research Fellow for The Center for Faith\, Sexuality & Gender \nGreg is the author of Single\, Gay\, Christian: A Personal Journey of Faith and Sexual Identity (IVP\, 2017) and No Longer Strangers: Finding Belonging in a World of Alienation (IVP\, 2021). What insights can we learn from relationships in Christian tradition\, like David and Jonathan\, about love and commitment? And\, what does this mean for our own conversations around covenant brotherhood/sisterhood\, celibate communities/partnerships\, and committed friendships? This presentation will explore the anthropological and historical evidence we have regarding covenant brotherhood\, covenant sisterhood\, and committed friendships throughout the global Christian tradition. Through exploring such past and present relationships\, this session will provide a broad summary of the topic as well as explore what questions churches can be asking around these types of kinship.\n\n[/vc_column_text][vc_empty_space][vc_column_text] \nBuilding Households of Belonging as Brothers and Sisters\nDavid Frank & Elena Fultz\, Seed House Community\nJoin David & Elena for a practical workshop on the theology of households and how to help start/build/strengthen them. As we think through the relationship between community and households\, expect to gain a vision for creating Christ-centered households that cultivate mutual belonging and shared spiritual life. We (David and Elena) started Seed House\, an intentional Christian community house\, to foster community living in East Phillips\, Minneapolis\, and we are eager to share how God has used it in the lives of straight and non-straight men and women\, and what components have been critical in sustaining shared life together. By God’s grace\, we hope to see a deepening of relational and spiritual health in our churches through a renewal of households.[/vc_column_text][vc_empty_space][vc_column_text] \nFacilitating Environments of Repentance in the Church\nPaul Klassen\, Broken Strength Ministries\nGod has called His church to make disciples in this world and has called us to not love the world.  In a culture and world where sexual images and messages seem to dominate the landscape\, how can the church attack the gates of hell while not falling prey to worldly sexual desires?  This workshop will look at the biblical call of ongoing repentance\, develop discussion around current practices\, and suggest practical ways to promote it in the area of sexual integrity.[/vc_column_text][vc_empty_space][vc_column_text] \n Longing\, Integrity\, Community and Choice\nAnna Carter\, Eden Invitation\n\nIn this workshop\, Anna explores the methods and foundations that are key for the discipleship of Christians with LGBTQ+ experiences.  We will look at what it is like to go beyond the LGBT paradigm to encounter the human person in all they are-experientially and ontologically.\n[/vc_column_text][/vc_tta_section][vc_tta_section title=”Registration” tab_id=”1562163641168-5bc3330e-434f”][vc_btn title=”Click Here to Register” color=”green” size=”lg” align=”center” button_block=”true” link=”url:https%3A%2F%2Fwww.eventbrite.com%2Fe%2F743690798197%3Faff%3Doddtdtcreator|target:_blank”][vc_column_text]\nREGISTRATION \n\n[/vc_column_text][vc_column_text][/vc_column_text][/vc_tta_section][vc_tta_section title=”Location” tab_id=”1562163503398-0ef6611c-7241″][vc_column_text]\nLOCATION \nCalvary Lutheran Church \n7520 Golden Valley\, Golden Valley\,  MN  55427 \n[/vc_column_text][/vc_tta_section][vc_tta_section title=”FAQ” tab_id=”1627919937344-09b1ebee-30c9″][vc_column_text]\n\nI registered for the event\, and now I am unable to attend\, can I get a refund?  Can I give my ticket to a co-worker or friend?\n\n\nFor cancellation requests at least thirty (30) calendar days before the registered event\, you will receive a FULL refund.
