SUMMARY:Jesus in the Secular World
DESCRIPTION:[vc_row ct_row_stretch=””][vc_column][vc_column_text]\nJESUS IN THE SECULAR WORLD\nOCTOBER 25\, 2022 | 12:00 pm – 2:30 pm\nLocation: CrossPoint Church \n9801 France Avenue S.\, Bloomington\, MN  55431 \n  \nWe live in a post-Christian culture where many have walked away from the Church.   \nThe fastest growing religious group in America is the religiously unaffiliated.  Over 30 million people have been added to this group in the last decade.  This is most pronounced among millennials and generation Zs\, many of whom are apathetic\, cynical\, or even hostile to Christianity.   \nJesus in the Secular World is a workshop that provides an in-depth look at the influences\, philosophy and implications of the secularized\, post-Christian cultural shift in the US.    \nBring your team to dialogue and learn together how you can help people think about Jesus in ways that make sense in a secular world view.  \n  \n“We have had the privilege of having Aaron and the Steiger team speak to our entire staff several times.  This training has been instrumental in helping our staff learn how to relate to our clients and share Jesus in a way that is relevant to where they are at.  Whenever Aaron present\, we not only learn new things\, but the staff also can’t wait to have him back!”  \nTammy Kocher\, Director of New Life Family Services \n  \nThere will be lots of time for Q+A and dialogue with your team and others. \n  \n[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row ct_row_stretch=””][vc_column][vc_empty_space height=”75px”][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row ct_row_stretch=””][vc_column]\n \n \n \n Registration\n \n \n \n \n \n\n \n \n \n \n \n SPEAKER\n \n \n \n \n \n\n \n \n \n \n \n FAQ\n \n \n \n \n \n\n \n \n \n [vc_column_text]This event is sold out. SUMMARY:Virtual Trauma Healing Initial Facilitator Training
DESCRIPTION:[vc_row ct_row_stretch=””][vc_column][vc_column_text]\nVIRTUAL TRAUMA HEALING INITIAL FACILITATOR TRAINING \nMarch 1\, 2\, and 3\, 2022\n5:00 pm – 9:00 pm\nLocation: Virtual Meeting on Zoom\nMaterials will be shipped to you. \n*To register for this training\, you must have completed a healing group prior to joining this training. \nAt this initial equipping session\, participants learn how to lead groups in a participatory way; learn the program model\, and develop plans for using what they have learned in their community. \n  \nTrauma healing facilitators aim to “do no harm” to those they help. To this end\, in order to be certified to lead healing groups and possibly train others\, this Initial Equipping begins a 3-step certification process that includes: \n1. An evaluation during this Initial equipping session that consists of: \n• Participant’s self-awareness of impact on others and the ability to interact well in a group\n• A short test showing your knowledge of the content\n• Practice facilitating a group in a participatory way with feedback on your strengths and suggestions to address areas needing improvement. \n2. A few months of practicum after the Initial Equipping in which ‘Apprentice Facilitators’ co-lead 2 healing groups that include all the core lessons. \n3. The process to become a Trauma Healing Group Facilitator is completed with demonstrated competence in an Advanced Equipping Session. \n  \nThis session is open to laypeople and clergy\, mental health professionals\, social justice advocates\, NGO workers\, and others who would like to explore becoming a trauma healing facilitator so that they can provide basic care for those wounded by trauma or loss and optionally train others to do so. \n\n*After the Advanced Equipping some facilitators also may learn to train others with this model. \n  \nNecessary qualifications: \n• Able to communicate in English.\n• At least 18 years old.\n• Able to manage personal well-being.\n• Committed to helping trauma survivors.\n• Able to dedicate time to lead trauma healing groups.\n• Able to attend the entire session. \nThe Trauma Healing Institute equips and supports a global community of workers in trauma care\, helping local churches\, national Bible Societies\, and other NGOs bring Bible-based trauma healing to the world’s hurting people. See our site at TraumaHealingInstitute.org. \n  \n Please note that certification as a facilitator requires attendance at ALL sessions\, but also that attendance does not guarantee certification as a facilitator. \n  \nQuestions may be emailed to Hailey Aeikens at hailey@transformmn.org [/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row ct_row_stretch=””][vc_column][vc_empty_space height=”75px”]\n \n \n \n Speaker\n \n \n \n \n \n\n \n \n \n \n \n Registration\n \n \n \n \n \n\n \n \n \n \n \n Location\n \n \n \n \n \n\n \n \n \n \n \n Training Options\n \n \n \n \n \n\n \n \n \n [vc_column_text]\nSPEAKERS \n \n\nMISTY BODKINS | TRAUMA HEALING INITIATIVE MASTER FACILITATOR\nMisty Bodkins has a Master of Arts degree in clinical psychology. SUMMARY:Virtual Trauma Healing Group
DESCRIPTION:[vc_row ct_row_stretch=””][vc_column][vc_column_text]\nVIRTUAL TRAUMA HEALING GROUP \nFebruary 1\, 3\, 8\, 10\, 15\, and 17\n6:00 pm – 8:30 pm\nLocation: Virtual Meeting on Zoom\nMaterials will be shipped to you. \n  \nTransform Minnesota in partnership with the American Bible Society is excited to bring a virtual Trauma Healing Group to the network.  \nWe all experience loss\, heartache\, and grief in this life. If you struggle to make peace with the wounds of your heart\, we would love to have you join a Healing Group. This small-group experience is also helpful for those who walk closely with others who must cope with trauma and losses\, both big and small. \n  \nThe group will be led by facilitators who are trained in Bible-based trauma healing. Together\, we will make a safe space for group members to: \n· Discover what the Bible says about suffering \n· Learn about trauma and its effects \n· Explore any trauma or loss you may be carrying \n· Release some of the emotional pain you carry \n· Help you get unstuck\, reconnected\, and ready to move on in life \n· Build resilience for the future \n  \nEach participant must be able to commit as each session builds upon the previous session. The group is confidential and will be closed once it begins. After attending a Trauma Healing Group\, participants will receive an opportunity to become certified if they desire by attending a Facilitator Training. \n  \nQuestions may be emailed to Hailey Aeikens at hailey@transformmn.org  \n[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row ct_row_stretch=””][vc_column][vc_empty_space height=”75px”]\n \n \n \n Speaker\n \n \n \n \n \n\n \n \n \n \n \n Registration\n \n \n \n \n \n\n \n \n \n \n \n Location\n \n \n \n \n \n\n \n \n \n \n \n Training Courses\n \n \n \n \n \n\n \n \n \n [vc_column_text]\nSPEAKERS \n\n \n\nRACHEL UTHMANN |  TRAUMA HEALING FACILITATOR WITH AMERICAN BIBLE SOCIETY \nRachel’s 20 years of work with refugees and other displaced people in Europe and North America has given her a passion for caring well for people who have survived deep pain and loss. Adult healing groups are meant for those ages 18 and older and are not intended to be a replacement for professional mental health care. \nAfter participating\, an individual may determine with their trainer if they are ready to lead others through a healing group. \nInitial Facilitator Training \nFacilitator training equips people to lead Healing Groups. SUMMARY:SOLD OUT - Sexuality\, Gender\, And The Church
DESCRIPTION:[vc_row ct_row_stretch=””][vc_column][vc_column_text]\nSOLD OUT – SEXUALITY\, GENDER\, AND THE CHURCH\n \nNovember 10\, 2021  |  9:00am – 3:00pm\nRiver Valley Church – Crosstown Campus \nThe Sexuality\, Gender\, and the Church conference with Dr. Preston Sprinkle is SOLD OUT! Each attendee will be required to have an individual ticket to access the building. [/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row ct_row_stretch=””][vc_column][vc_empty_space height=”50px”][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row ct_row_stretch=””][vc_column][vc_column_text]Sexuality\, Gender and the Church is a leader’s conference designed to help pastors engage questions of gender and sexuality from a biblical perspective. The conference will offer practical guidance for churches and ministries as they seek to be inclusive to the LGBTQ community while being faithful to a biblical sexual ethic. We will look at cultural trajectories\, current and future trends\, and suggest what new issues surrounding identity and sexuality the Church should be prepared to encounter. \nThe Sexuality\, Gender and the Church conference is anchored in historic Christian teachings that view sex and gender as beautiful attributes designed by God. \nThere will be 3 sections to the conference and time for Q&A.[/vc_column_text][vc_empty_space height=”40px”][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row ct_row_stretch=””][vc_column][vc_column_text]\nHow the Church can be Inclusive While Being Faithful to a Biblical Sexual Ethic \nIn this session\, Dr. Preston will help church leaders think clearly\, consistently\, and biblically about policies regarding membership\, baptism\, communion\, service\, and leadership for LGBTQ people. How can the church be inclusive while remaining faithful to a biblical sexual ethic? And\, how are these policies and practices consistently applied to other areas like divorce\, re-marriage\, and cohabitation before marriage?[/vc_column_text][vc_empty_space][vc_column_text]\nTransgender Identities and the Church \nDr. Sprinkle will equip us to engage with the transgender community with love and compassion while staying rooted in a biblical theology of gender and sexuality. \nMillions of gay and trans* people have grown up in our churches\, and many of them have left due to shame\, ridicule\, and dehumanization. “I’ve never met a Christian who was kind to me\,” From Embodied; Transgender Identities\, The Church and What the Bible Has to Say \n  \nWe will discuss complex questions and practical applications: \n· Is it possible for someone’s gender to be different from their biological sex? \n· Are the Gender Affirmative Model and Conversion Therapy the only options for someone who is transgender? \n· Should Christians use someone’s preferred gender pronouns? \n[/vc_column_text][vc_empty_space][vc_column_text]\nThe Future of Sexuality \nSociety is rapidly defining gender\, sexuality\, and marriage in opposition to the biblical design that God intended. It is critical that we continue to promote a Christian vision for sexuality as the best option in a relevant way. Drawing from years of dialogue and cultural observation in the field of human sexuality\, Dr. Sprinkle will discuss what he believes will be likely trends and issues and suggest ways to anchor our teaching in Biblical truth.[/vc_column_text][vc_empty_space height=”62px”][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row ct_row_stretch=””][vc_column][vc_tta_tabs style=”modern” shape=”square” color=”black” active_section=”1″][vc_tta_section title=”Speaker” tab_id=”1562163491765-eb018353-b2e8″][vc_column_text]\nSPEAKER \n  \nPRESTON SPRINKLE  |  PRESIDENT OF THE CENTER FOR FAITH\, SEXUALITY & GENDER \nPreston is a highly sought-after speaker and teacher. SUMMARY:Trauma Healing Equipping
DESCRIPTION:[vc_row ct_row_stretch=””][vc_column][vc_column_text]\nTRAUMA HEALING EQUIPPING SESSION\n\nOctober 27 – 30\, 2021  |  9:00am – 5:00pm each day\nLocation: Transform Minnesota\nLunch + snacks will be served on-site \nTransform Minnesota is proud to announce our partnership with the American Bible Society to bring Bible-based trauma healing to the Twin Cities. \nAmerican Bible Society partners with local churches by equipping them to respond to the suffering and trauma in their communities using the Trauma Healing Institute’s program model and materials. \nTrauma Healing Equipping Session: \nOne in five American adults has been a victim of or witness to traumatic events in just the past 10 years. As the events of 2020 unfolded\, we collectively experienced numerous traumas\, including the murder of George Floyd and the pandemic. \nGod wants to heal our wounded hearts and minds and He calls the Church to help. American Bible Society and Transform Minnesota have partnered together to bring the Trauma Healing Initiative to the Twin Cities. Through Bible-based\, facilitator-led\, small groups\, we are seeing God heal people in amazing ways. \nThe Trauma Healing Equipping session is for those who wish to be trained and certified as Trauma Healing small group facilitators. You will be trained in Biblical and mental health principles related to trauma care. The Trauma Healing Equipping sessions are designed to be experiential and participatory.  \nPlease pray and ask God if He is calling you to serve as a peer facilitator and lead a Trauma Healing group in your church or community. \n  \nThe Equipping curriculum is:  \n• Bible-Based \n• Offered in a small-group format \n• Includes 6 lessons \n• And is led by trained and certified peer facilitators. \n• Certification as a Trauma Healing facilitator is based on demonstrated skills in the five core competencies: able to facilitate in a participatory way\, able to work on a team\, able to help traumatized people\, knowledge of the materials\, and able to manage personal well-being. While certification is not a guarantee\, most people will gain valuable skills in trauma care for both themselves and others through attending this training.    \n  \nNecessary qualifications to be a facilitator:   \n • Able to attend each day of the four-day training (certificates will only be granted to those who do so)  \n • Fluent in English  \n • At least 18 years old  \n • Committed to helping trauma survivors and able to dedicate 2 weeks per year to Trauma Healing  \n • Able to teach others\, manage own wellbeing while leading others\, work on a team\, and learn to lead groups in a participatory way. Be willing to explore your own loss and pain you may be carrying. \n• It is suggested\, but not required\, that you attend the training with someone else from your organization\, church\, or area with whom you could co-lead healing groups in the future (if certified). \n[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row ct_row_stretch=””][vc_column][vc_empty_space height=”75px”]\n \n \n \n Speaker\n \n \n \n \n \n\n \n \n \n \n \n Registration\n \n \n \n \n \n\n \n \n \n \n \n Location\n \n \n \n \n \n\n \n \n \n [vc_column_text]\nSPEAKERS \n \n\nMISTY BODKINS | TRAUMA HEALING INITIATIVE MASTER FACILITATOR\nMisty Bodkins has a Master of Arts degree in clinical psychology. During this course\, we will seek to understand the construct of race\, and evil of racism. We must have a transparent awareness of our history and the invention of race to know how it has played out in our society. \nWe will learn the history and the intersection of racism in America and the Church. This will reshape some of what we know about race relations today. In order to “do”\, we need to see the history and current realities of racism in America correctly. \nTo fully appreciate our part in healing\, moving forward\, and being an active participant in the work of racial reconciliation\, we must know the story of race\, racism\, and the Gospel. \n\n[/vc_column_text][vc_empty_space height=”30px”][vc_column_text]\nSmall groups will allow for deeper work to be achieved through dialogue.  \n\n[/vc_column_text][vc_empty_space height=”30px”][vc_column_text]\n\nThis is a 4-week/4-session commitment that will help attendees know the story of Race\, Racism\, and the Gospel. We all live in a fallen world and groan inwardly from the painful consequences of the fall. The church is uniquely called to this mission field. We all live in a fallen world and groan inwardly from the painful consequences of the fall. The church is uniquely called to this mission field. It provides a theology for suffering\, a community bound together in love\, access to a God who is willing to hear our honest laments\, and a Savior who knows what unjust suffering feels like and whose death on the cross heals the broken-hearted and forgives their sins.  \nA Convening session is designed intended for top church and organizational leaders to gain a high-level overview of the Trauma Healing program\, learn how the Trauma Healing Initiative is meeting the need for trauma healing in the church\, and what having a trauma healing ministry at your church would look like.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row ct_row_stretch=””][vc_column][vc_empty_space height=”75px”]\n \n \n \n Speaker\n \n \n \n \n \n\n \n \n \n \n \n Registration\n \n \n \n \n \n\n \n \n \n \n \n Location\n \n \n \n \n \n\n \n \n \n [vc_column_text]\nSPEAKERS \n \nMARLAINA CENTENO |  TRAUMA HEALING – CHURCH PARTNERSHIPS WITH AMERICAN BIBLE SOCIETY \nMinutes into meeting Marlaina\, you’ll see that she radiates deep joy (she will warn you about her loud laugh). SUMMARY:Gospel-Empowered Civic Engagement with Justin Giboney
DESCRIPTION:[vc_row ct_row_stretch=””][vc_column][vc_column_text]\nGospel-Empowered Civic Engagement with Justin Giboney\n\nThursday\, October 15th  |  1:00pm – 2:00pm CST \nAs Christians we are called to love our neighbors through actions that promote justice and actively seek the wellbeing of others. Transform Minnesota is partnering with Justin Giboney from the AND Campaign for a webinar on civic engagement and how we as believers can lead the charge. Together we will consider what God’s word says about various social issues our nation currently faces and how we can better advocate for Christ-like policies within a biblical framework.   \nJustin will answer questions including:   \n• Can I engage in compassion and conviction?  \n• What does faithful civic and cultural engagement look like in how I spend my time\, energy\, and resources?   \n• How do I best align my engagement with God’s word on issues that fall outside of or in opposition to my political affiliation?  \nJustin’s message offers Christians hope and confidence in civic and cultural engagement and provides freedom for Christians to participate in our highly polarized political culture. DESCRIPTION:[vc_row ct_row_stretch=””][vc_column][vc_column_text]\n\nMINDING MINNESOTA’S EDUCATION GAP\nWhy our education gap is becoming worse\, and how we move forward. \nJune 30\, 2020  |  1:00 – 2:00PM\nOnline Webinar \nMost Minnesotans are aware that our state ranks at the very bottom nationally in terms of education equity and performance. Prior to Covid-19\, zip code\, income\, and ethnicity already played a significant role in determining where students landed in the existing achievement gap. This disadvantage has only been exacerbated with the introduction of distance learning\, required home technology\, and dependence on a strong support system at home. Covid-19 protocols\, in more ways than one\, are geared towards privileged middle- and upper-class families. \n\n\n\nJoin us for a webinar with Dr. Nicole Baker Fulgham\, President of the Expectations Project\, as she sheds light on the pre-existing education gap in Minnesota\, and how the pandemic has multiplied this issue. Dr. Baker Fulgham will address the ways in which we can ensure best practices are put in place to mitigate current and future damage in our school systems.  \nWe will have time for Q & A.  \n\n[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row ct_row_stretch=””][vc_column][vc_empty_space][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row ct_row_stretch=””][vc_column][vc_empty_space][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row ct_row_stretch=””][vc_column][vc_column_text]\nREGISTRATION \n[/vc_column_text][vc_empty_space][vc_btn title=”Register” shape=”square” color=”black” align=”center” link=”url:https%3A%2F%2Fus02web.zoom.us%2Fwebinar%2Fregister%2FWN_5ZOBvQiqSiOx0-3gcD8p6A||target:%20_blank|”][vc_column_text]\nRegistration for this webinar is limited to the first 100 individuals who reserve their spot.  \n[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row ct_row_stretch=””][vc_column][vc_empty_space][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row ct_row_stretch=””][vc_column][vc_empty_space][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row ct_row_stretch=””][vc_column][vc_column_text]\nSPEAKER \nDR.
