Swoboda)\, we are excited to hear from Nina on the internal group dynamics and differences within Gen Z. In her work with college students\, Nina has gained insight into a wide range of complex perspectives held by Gen Z. She will provide observations and highlight the significant differences and commonalities among Gen Z. A few factors we will discuss include political party affiliation and ideologies; inherited faith traditions and practices; perceived hypocrisy and inauthenticity within older generations; and challenges in navigating between Scripture\, theological frameworks\, viewpoints on sexuality\, and approaches to justice issues.[/vc_column_text][vc_empty_space height=”15px”][vc_column_text]Despite these differences\, Nina will share what this generation seems to collectively long for\, struggle with\, and how the Church can authentically disciple Gen Z leaders. DESCRIPTION:[vc_row ct_row_stretch=””][vc_column][vc_column_text]\n\nMINDING MINNESOTA’S EDUCATION GAP\nWhy our education gap is becoming worse\, and how we move forward. \nJune 30\, 2020  |  1:00 – 2:00PM\nOnline Webinar \nMost Minnesotans are aware that our state ranks at the very bottom nationally in terms of education equity and performance. Prior to Covid-19\, zip code\, income\, and ethnicity already played a significant role in determining where students landed in the existing achievement gap. This disadvantage has only been exacerbated with the introduction of distance learning\, required home technology\, and dependence on a strong support system at home. Covid-19 protocols\, in more ways than one\, are geared towards privileged middle- and upper-class families. \n\n\n\nJoin us for a webinar with Dr. Nicole Baker Fulgham\, President of the Expectations Project\, as she sheds light on the pre-existing education gap in Minnesota\, and how the pandemic has multiplied this issue. But for students growing up in poverty\, public education looks a whole lot different. Education inequality keeps students from achieving their dreams and fulfilling their God given potential. \nThere are more than 300\,000 places of worship across America compared with roughly 50\,000 high-poverty public schools\, struggling to meet student needs.  The church has a responsibility to use our positions of privilege and authority to advocate for public policy changes that will make a real difference for our nation’s students. \nNicole Baker Fulgham is the founder and President of the Expectations Project. The Expectations Project empowers people of faith to shine a light on education inequality through prayer\, compassionate service and faithful advocacy. \nJoin us for breakfast with Nicole to look at the history of education inequality and a Biblical model of advocacy that can lead to change. \n*This event is free\, but registration is required.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row ct_row_stretch=””][vc_column][vc_empty_space height=”40px”][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row ct_row_stretch=””][vc_column][vc_empty_space height=”30px”][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row ct_row_stretch=””][vc_column][vc_btn title=”REGISTER” shape=”square” color=”black” size=”lg” align=”center” link=”url:https%3A%2F%2Fwww.jotform.com%2Ftransformmn%2Ffaithfuladvocacy||target:%20_blank|”][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row ct_row_stretch=””][vc_column][vc_empty_space height=”40px”][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row ct_row_stretch=””][vc_column][vc_empty_space height=”30px”][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row ct_row_stretch=””][vc_column][vc_column_text]\nSPEAKER \nNICOLE BAKER FULGHAM  |  THE EXPECTATIONS PROJECT\n\nA Detroit native\, Nicole graduated from the University of Michigan and joined Teach For America (TFA) where she taught 5th grade in Compton\, CA. SUMMARY:Predators in the Church
DESCRIPTION:[vc_row ct_row_stretch=””][vc_column][vc_column_text]\nWhat: Predators in the Church \nWhen: August 29\, 2019 \nWhere: The Grove Church\, 8585 Rice Lake Rd\, Maple Grove\, MN 55369 \n  \nThis one-day seminar will address best practices on how to protect our churches from predators. This is an unfortunate but necessary topic for each pastor and church worker to be fluent in. \nEveryday in the national news media\, there are stories about sexual abuse\, shootings or embezzlement in the church. Recent cases include: \n\nA sexual predator at the eighth largest church in America.\nAn active shooter at a church of 70 people.\nAn embezzler in a town of 844 people stole $481\,000 … two school leaders in a big city stole $3 million.\n\nDon’t think that it can’t happen to you! Predators are in churches of all sizes and all cities. They are already in your church! You must change your thinking and take action. \nWhat do we do? At the workshop\, learn the first step in protecting your church. You must change the way that you view predators. They are smart\, cunning and have a plan to bring crime to your congregation. \nAt the workshop\, learn how to change your strategies and tactics to avert a predator. Discover the 8 Principles of Wolf Thinking as illustrated through a predator at WheatFields Good News Church and from recent cases in the national media. This is real life and what you don’t want to happen in your church! Predators are sly and yesterday’s plans may not be effective today. \nBring your team: senior and executive pastors\, pastors who oversee adults in ministry\, youth pastors and children’s workers\, financial staff\, key volunteers who work with children\, hospitality and safety\, board members. \n  \nAbout XPastor: Dr. David Fletcher founded XPastor in 2003 and it has become a principal resource for executive leaders in a complex church world. XPastor receives hundreds of thousands of visits each year and contains over 1\,000 free articles. The mission is to “equip\, coach and lead you who lead and manage the church. Our tribe is church leaders—Executive Pastors\, Senior Pastors\, Pastors\, Finance Personnel and Board Members.” XPastor is a global tool for churches of all sizes. \nFor 35 years\, Dr. David Fletcher\, of the “Hey Fletch” column\, led churches from 1\,000-8\,000 members\, single and multisite\, churches with camps\, schools\, apartments and cafés. Fletch brings an objective perspective\, broad knowledge and vast experience. He’s a friend and “church doctor.” He brings biblical principles and best practices to your church’s unique culture and setting. Fletch received two graduate degrees from Dallas Seminary and did executive education classes at the Kellogg School of Management and the Harvard Business School. \nIn academia\, he teaches church leadership to Doctor of Ministry students at Dallas Seminary. At ETS India\, he made a ten-year commitment to found their D.Min. program and train a national leader to replace him—bringing world-class authors as guest professors\, such as Darrell Bock\, Gene Getz\, Wayne Grudem and Dan Wallace.\nHe was treasurer for twenty-five years of the American Council of the Asian Christian Academy. Fletch is certified in the Myers Briggs Type Indicator and trained in conflict resolution. He was a founding board member of OCUnited. Fletch has authored three books\, People Patters\, Crisis Leadership and Smart Money for Church Salaries. His next book\, Predators in the Church\, will be released in August 2019. \n\n[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row]

SUMMARY:Reformatted: Reexamining Sexuality
DESCRIPTION:[vc_row ct_row_stretch=””][vc_column][vc_column_text]\nREEXAMINING SEXUALITY – $65\nA healthy view of sex begins with a healthy view of God\nAugust 1\, 2019  |  9:00am – 3:00pm\nElim Church\n  \nTransform Minnesota is thrilled to announce Reexamining Sexuality – Reformatted! In August we will present Reexamining Sexuality in a one day conference. \n  \nThis conference will help us reexamine our sexuality by looking at the character and nature of God. We will then explore what it means to be created in the image of God\, leading to a healthy view of our own sexuality identity and God’s design for sex. This one day conference will offer great conversations for pastors\, church leaders and youth pastors as they work to maintain and teach a healthy view of sex. \n  \nBecky Patton\, the founder of Truessence ministry\, will engage in the deeper questions of how we view God affects how we honor ourselves and others. We will explore the physical and spiritual nature of sexual desire\, sexual struggle\, and the gift of intimacy in sexual engagement. \n  \nThe one day conference is composed of three sections: \n1st: Imago Dei: Re-examining our view of God \n2nd: Created in the Image of God: Re-examining ourselves \n3rd: Healthy Sexuality Identity: Re-examining our view of sexuality \n  \n\n\n\n\n\n[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row ct_row_stretch=””][vc_column][vc_empty_space height=”40px”][vc_tta_tabs style=”modern” shape=”square” color=”black” spacing=”3″ active_section=”1″][vc_tta_section title=”Register” tab_id=”1560968631481-5a69194f-2c1f”][vc_column_text]\nREGISTER \n  \nRegistration is now closed! \n[/vc_column_text][vc_column_text]\n*Lunch included in ticket price\n[/vc_column_text][/vc_tta_section][vc_tta_section title=”What to Expect” tab_id=”1560968631495-7191955e-465e”][vc_column_text]\nWHAT TO EXPECT \n  \nThroughout the workshop\, Becky will guide attendees through interactive teaching\, group discussion\, scripture\, scientific reference and historical context. The content was very relevant to the work I do. It was biblically sound. She completely disrupted so much harmful church culture in the most loving and gracious way. Well done! \nThis training is adding a whole different dimension to how I will approach sexuality and spirituality in my ministry. \nWe are made in God’s image\, not He in ours. Even our gender differences are defined in Him and those differences created purposefully and are aspects of God. \n[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row ct_row_stretch=””][vc_column][vc_column_text][/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row]
