Communications Coordinator

The Communications Coordinator helps fulfill the mission of Transform Minnesota; to connect and equip the Church, by producing written content and providing expertise to support the communications strategies for the organization. The main objective of the Communications Coordinator will be to gather and develop mission-related stories and to convey key messages to the public as well as coordinate communication projects and timelines.
This is a part-time position (24 – 30 hours / week) located at the Richfield Headquarters location, with room for flexible scheduling.

REPORTS TO:

  • Chief Operating Officer

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Develop and plan communication strategies and work plans for Transform Minnesota; suggest strategies to engage readers and expand audiences
  • Generate weekly content for Transform Minnesota that can be communicated through multiple formats (print and electronic newsletters, website posts, social media platforms, personal visits)
  • Attend Transform Minnesota events to collect and conduct interviews, quotes and gather content for summary write-ups and resources and articles
  • Capture or acquire images to accompany stories
  • Work with Transform Minnesota program team to create and develop event language and messaging
  • Design graphics and images for event promotional materials (electronic and physical)
  • Create and develop story lines for video production; coordinate with contract videographers for production
  • Post and manage blog content on websites; manage and create electronic newsletters
  • Attend and participate in weekly team staff and prayer meetings

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelors in Communications, Marketing or Journalism preferred
  • 3-5 years experience in writing, reporting, creating newsletters and editing
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Experience posting and managing content on websites and in electronic newsletter platforms
  • High level of enthusiasm, leadership and innovation
  • Strong interpersonal skills; work well in a team environment
