Event Coordinator

The Event Coordinator helps fulfill the mission of Transform Minnesota; to connect and equip the Church, by coordinating program activities, events and services that add value to Transform Minnesota’s network. The Event Coordinator will actively engage in advancing the mission through our key initiative areas; Racial Justice & Reconciliation, Holy Sexuality and Church Impact.

REPORTS TO

  • Chief Operating Officer

DIRECT REPORTS

  • None

STATUS & COMPENSATION

  • 32 hour/week

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Implement multi-year program initiatives around Transform Minnesota’s key impact areas
    • Create the action plan to implement and roll out services, activities and events
    • Establish goals and objectives; track and report progress
  • Schedule, plan and coordinate events and services
    • Participate in program planning and creation teams, and recruit and train volunteers
    • Coordinate speaker logistics, host locations, sponsorships, caterers and other logistics
    • Manage registration and track attendance
    • Conduct post event reviews to ensure successful outcomes and experiences
  • Manage event budget; track income, expenses, attendance for reporting to accounting and annual auditors
  • Provide information to the communications team surrounding events and programs for website, email and mailings, and printed resources/materials
  • Work with Communications Coordinator to maintain and improve contact and data management

QUALIFICATIONS

  • 1-3 years related experience; events, meeting or conference planning
  • Associates Degree preferred in relevant field
  • Ability to plan and manage details to accomplish a complete product; strength in executing and task completion
  • Ability to prioritize and meet deadlines
  • Strong language skills with the ability to write reports, correspondence and internal communications
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from vendors, guests and volunteers
  • Must be proficient with Microsoft Office and competency with web-based applications such as: WordPress, Constant Contact, Survey Monkey, EventBrite or their equivalent
