DESCRIPTION:[vc_row ct_row_stretch=””][vc_column][vc_column_text]\nCOMPASSION & CONVICTION\nEngage in the work of justice & uphold absolute truth.\n\nMARCH 15\, 2022 | 9:00 am – 3:30 pm\nRiver City Church \nAs believers\, we are not loyal to ideologies but to the biblical values and principles of advocating for the poor\, caring for the whole spectrum of life\, thoughtful and compassionate immigration policy\, civil rights\, religious freedom\, racial justice\, and restorative justice.   \n The Great Commandment says “love the Lord your God with all your heart…and love your neighbor as yourself” (Matthew 22:37-39).   \n“Part of taking the Great Commandment seriously is realizing that love is more than a feeling or sentiment. Love is active. Love has form and content and compels us to act. Loving your neighbors involves actively seeking their well-being*.”  \nJoin us for Compassion & Conviction as we hear from Justin Giboney\, co-founder\, and President of the And Campaign. He is also the co-founder and president of the AND Campaign\, a coalition of urban Christians who are determined to address the sociopolitical arena with the compassion and conviction of the Gospel of Jesus Christ. \nGiboney also served on the Urban League of Greater Atlanta Board of Directors and has written op-eds for publications such as Christianity Today and The Hill. \n  \n  \n  \n  \n  \n \nBROOKE HEMPELL |  PINKSTON\nJUSTICE & HUMAN DIGNITY PANELIST \nHempell was formerly senior vice president of research for Barna\, the leading research organization focused on the intersection of faith and culture. In this role\, she managed the breadth of the company’s studies\, including published reports on key interest topics\, ongoing polls tracking Americans’ beliefs and practices\, and custom studies to help businesses and non-profit organizations make better decisions. \nOver the course of her two-decade career\, Hempell has led market research for clients in the pharmaceutical\, financial services and retail industries\, including blue chip companies such as Pfizer\, Bristol-Myers Squibb\, American Express\, Capital One\, Disney and Home Depot. Much of her work has focused on communications\, including groundbreaking research measuring the influence of social media in its earliest days\, at Publicis Groupe’s ‘i to i research.’ She earned her degree in Business and Marketing from Cornell University. \n  \nCHERILYN HOLLOWAY | PRO-BLACK PRO-LIFE\nLIFE & HUMAN DIGNITY PANELIST + KEYNOTE SPEAKER \nCherilyn has such a unique and wonderful background to provide an excellent perspective.  She was been the director of a Pregnancy Center and she provides unique insight into both the black and the pro-life communities.  “She’s a Certified Crisis Pregnancy Intervention Specialist\, a Level 2 Certified Lay Counselor\, and winner of the 2015 Problem Solver Award by Americorp Vista. As a post-abortive woman\, she found healing through Jesus Christ and He is crafting a beautiful story from her ashes. \nShe is the Founder and President of Pro-Black Pro-Life which has the following objective: “Our goal is to create conversations that build trust and open the line of effective communication around difficult issues.” Cherilyn can be seen in the documentary\, “Divided Hearts of America\,” as well as\, episode three of ABC’s series\, “Soul of a Nation.”  She has been a contributing writer for Focus on the Family\, and Faith…Literally.  Cherilyn is the author of the series\, “A Black Woman’s Guide to Saving Her Race\,” with volume two debuting in 2022. She lives in Ohio with the love of her life Jonathon\, surrounded by their eight children\, and two grandchildren. \n  \n  \nAMANDA SALMON |  FIRST CARE PREGNANCY CENTER\nLIFE & HUMAN DIGNITY PANELIST \nAmanda Salmon has been working in the social service field for fifteen years and on staff with New Life Family Services since 2011.She currently serves as their Director of Client Care. Amanda has devoted her professional and personal life to affirming the dignity of each person and walking alongside those who are facing overwhelming pregnancy\, parenting\, or adoption circumstances. She strongly believes in the importance of loving and meeting each individual where they are at and providing the tools necessary for them to make life-affirming choices. Amanda lives in the Twin Cities with her husband Chris where they are adoptive parents to their three amazing kids. \n  \n  \n  \nHEATHER RICE-MINUS | PRISON FELLOWSHIP\nJUSTICE & HUMAN DIGNITY PANELIST + KEYNOTE SPEAKER \nHeather Rice-Minus serves as senior vice president of advocacy and church mobilization at Prison Fellowship\, the nation’s largest Christian nonprofit serving prisoners\, former prisoners\, and their families. She is a powerful\, knowledgeable voice articulating the case for restorative criminal justice solutions and how churches play a critical role in meeting the needs of those impacted by crime and incarceration. \nRice-Minus provides strategic leadership to several teams at Prison Fellowship\, including grassroots and policy staff\, to advance campaigns on pivotal criminal justice issues. She spearheads Prison Fellowship’s efforts to build new church resources and deepen church partnerships through programs like Prison Fellowship’s Angel Tree. Additionally\, she directs Prison Fellowship’s outreach to and partnerships with foundations. \nShe is the co-author of Outrageous Justice\, a multimedia Bible study curriculum and companion book produced by Prison Fellowship. She maintains a vested interest in justice reform as someone who has both been a victim of crime and walked alongside a family member during his incarceration. Prior to her tenure at Prison Fellowship\, she managed advocacy efforts on behalf of the National Religious Campaign Against Torture. She is a graduate of Colorado State University and George Mason University’s Antonin Scalia Law School. She is a member of the Virginia State Bar and a Colson Fellow. \n  \nTIERRE WEBSTER | DAMASCUS WAY REENTRY CENTER\nJUSTICE & HUMAN DIGNITY PANELIST \nTierre Webster is the Executive Director of Damascus Way Reentry Center which provides reentry leadership and services using a Christ-Centered approach.
