SUMMARY:Virtual Trauma Healing Initial Facilitator Training
DESCRIPTION:[vc_row ct_row_stretch=””][vc_column][vc_column_text]\nVIRTUAL TRAUMA HEALING INITIAL FACILITATOR TRAINING \nMarch 1\, 2\, and 3\, 2022\n5:00 pm – 9:00 pm\nLocation: Virtual Meeting on Zoom\nMaterials will be shipped to you. \n*To register for this training\, you must have completed a healing group prior to joining this training. \nAt this initial equipping session\, participants learn how to lead groups in a participatory way; learn the program model\, and develop plans for using what they have learned in their community. \n  \nTrauma healing facilitators aim to “do no harm” to those they help. To this end\, in order to be certified to lead healing groups and possibly train others\, this Initial Equipping begins a 3-step certification process that includes: \n1. An evaluation during this Initial equipping session that consists of: \n• Participant’s self-awareness of impact on others and the ability to interact well in a group\n• A short test showing your knowledge of the content\n• Practice facilitating a group in a participatory way with feedback on your strengths and suggestions to address areas needing improvement. \n2. A few months of practicum after the Initial Equipping in which ‘Apprentice Facilitators’ co-lead 2 healing groups that include all the core lessons. \n3. The process to become a Trauma Healing Group Facilitator is completed with demonstrated competence in an Advanced Equipping Session. \n  \nThis session is open to laypeople and clergy\, mental health professionals\, social justice advocates\, NGO workers\, and others who would like to explore becoming a trauma healing facilitator so that they can provide basic care for those wounded by trauma or loss and optionally train others to do so. \n\n*After the Advanced Equipping some facilitators also may learn to train others with this model. \n  \nNecessary qualifications: \n• Able to communicate in English.\n• At least 18 years old.\n• Able to manage personal well-being.\n• Committed to helping trauma survivors.\n• Able to dedicate time to lead trauma healing groups.\n• Able to attend the entire session. \nThe Trauma Healing Institute equips and supports a global community of workers in trauma care\, helping local churches\, national Bible Societies\, and other NGOs bring Bible-based trauma healing to the world’s hurting people. See our site at TraumaHealingInstitute.org. \n  \n Please note that certification as a facilitator requires attendance at ALL sessions\, but also that attendance does not guarantee certification as a facilitator. \n  \nQuestions may be emailed to Hailey Aeikens at hailey@transformmn.org [/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row ct_row_stretch=””][vc_column][vc_empty_space height=”75px”]\n \n \n \n Speaker\n \n \n \n \n \n\n \n \n \n \n \n Registration\n \n \n \n \n \n\n \n \n \n \n \n Location\n \n \n \n \n \n\n \n \n \n \n \n Training Options\n \n \n \n \n \n\n \n \n \n [vc_column_text]\nSPEAKERS \n \n\nMISTY BODKINS | TRAUMA HEALING INITIATIVE MASTER FACILITATOR\nMisty Bodkins has a Master of Arts degree in clinical psychology. She moved to Zimbabwe in 2007\, with the intention to establish a counseling ministry with the youth in the area. Her time in Zimbabwe shaped a passion for training those to do counseling versus doing the counseling herself. Misty then spent the next 21 months working as a crisis care consultant with a disaster relief ministry before becoming executive director of Ministry Care in September 2016. She believes in the value of Ministry of Presence-being present and available to walk alongside those who are suffering. Trauma Healing has been invaluable then to the heart of Ministry Care.\n \nMisty is certified as a Master Facilitator in both the Adult Classic and the Correctional Contextualization\, as well as the Teen’s program. She is also an Apprentice Facilitator in the Children’s program and a Healing Group Facilitator in the Oral Story Based program. People with deep wounds from trauma can find healing\, engage with Scripture\, learn to feel safe\, learn to trust\, and know they are valued. \nHealing Groups are led by certified facilitators and cover topics such as God’s presence in suffering\, grieving\, and forgiveness. Adult healing groups are meant for those ages 18 and older and are not intended to be a replacement for professional mental health care. \nAfter participating\, an individual may determine with their trainer if they are ready to lead others through a healing group. \nInitial Facilitator Training \nFacilitator training equips people to lead Healing Groups. Participants will learn skills to know how to be safe people to those that have experienced deep pain and suffering. The training combines both biblical and mental health principles related to trauma care. \nParticipants must have first attended a Healing Group in order to be trained as a facilitator. \nAdvanced Facilitator Training \nThe Advanced Facilitator Training builds upon the skills already gained through the Initial Facilitator Training. Participants must have led 2 healing groups to attend an Advanced Facilitator Training. By the end of this session\, trainers will be better able to solve issues arising in trauma healing as they carry out their ministries. \nHealing Group + Facilitator Training \nAt times we will combine a Healing Group with an Initial Facilitator Training. SUMMARY:Virtual Trauma Healing Group
DESCRIPTION:[vc_row ct_row_stretch=””][vc_column][vc_column_text]\nVIRTUAL TRAUMA HEALING GROUP \nFebruary 1\, 3\, 8\, 10\, 15\, and 17\n6:00 pm – 8:30 pm\nLocation: Virtual Meeting on Zoom\nMaterials will be shipped to you. \n  \nTransform Minnesota in partnership with the American Bible Society is excited to bring a virtual Trauma Healing Group to the network.  \nWe all experience loss\, heartache\, and grief in this life. If you struggle to make peace with the wounds of your heart\, we would love to have you join a Healing Group. This small-group experience is also helpful for those who walk closely with others who must cope with trauma and losses\, both big and small. \n  \nThe group will be led by facilitators who are trained in Bible-based trauma healing. Together\, we will make a safe space for group members to: \n· Discover what the Bible says about suffering \n· Learn about trauma and its effects \n· Explore any trauma or loss you may be carrying \n· Release some of the emotional pain you carry \n· Help you get unstuck\, reconnected\, and ready to move on in life \n· Build resilience for the future \n  \nEach participant must be able to commit as each session builds upon the previous session. The group is confidential and will be closed once it begins. After attending a Trauma Healing Group\, participants will receive an opportunity to become certified if they desire by attending a Facilitator Training. \n  \nQuestions may be emailed to Hailey Aeikens at hailey@transformmn.org  \n[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row ct_row_stretch=””][vc_column][vc_empty_space height=”75px”]\n \n \n \n Speaker\n \n \n \n \n \n\n \n \n \n \n \n Registration\n \n \n \n \n \n\n \n \n \n \n \n Location\n \n \n \n \n \n\n \n \n \n \n \n Training Courses\n \n \n \n \n \n\n \n \n \n [vc_column_text]\nSPEAKERS \n\n \n\nRACHEL UTHMANN |  TRAUMA HEALING FACILITATOR WITH AMERICAN BIBLE SOCIETY \nRachel’s 20 years of work with refugees and other displaced people in Europe and North America has given her a passion for caring well for people who have survived deep pain and loss.
