CHILDREN WHO EXPERIENCE CHILD MALTREATMENT

• Are twice as likely as returning war veterans to experience PTSD
• Are 25% more likely than the population in general to experience teen pregnancy, drug use, and sexual risk taking
• Are 11 times more likely to be arrested as a juvenile and 2.7 times as likely to be arrested for violent crime as an adult
• Have increased rates of cancer, diabetes, asthma, allergies, and more
