The church is called to fight for truth and justice. This requires us to not only be not-racist but also actively anti-racism. Systems, policies and practices in America have promoted racial injustices for decades. The church can lead the way in change but must move from inactivity to intentionality and advocacy. Join us for a candid conversation to look at the racial disparities in our country, how we got here and how the church can lead the way forward.
Jemar Tisby, writer and speaker will address:
• What it looks like to take part in the active dismantling of racist structures
• How we lead our congregations and others when this conversation becomes politically charged
• How we can engage others in advocacy

Jemar Tisby | President of The Witness: A Black Christian Collective
Jemar (B.A. Notre Dame; Mdiv RTS Jackson) is the president of The Witness: A Black Christian Collective where he writes about race, religion, and culture. He is also the co-host of “Pass The Mic”, a podcast that amplifies dynamic voices for a diverse church. His writing has been featured in the Washington Post, CNN, Vox, and the New York Times. He has spoken nation-wide at conferences on racial reconciliation, U.S. history, and the church. His first book, “The Color of Compromise: The Truth about the American Church’s Complicity in Racism,” is out now from Zondervan.
