Racial Disparities in COVID-19
Why the pandemic is highlighting racial inequities and creating uncertainty for the African American Church.
Wednesday, May 20th | 2:00pm CST
During Covid-19, CDC data shows that exposure and mortality rates are disproportionately affecting African American communities. While the current pandemic represents an acute crisis, the problem is longstanding, chronic, and systemic. Jemar Tisby, author of The Color of Compromise, and president of The Witness: A Black Christian Collective, will look at the history of racial health disparities and how it impacts the future of the African American Church. He will lead us through an historically-based presentation that will help explain our present-day dilemma. There will be a brief time for Q and A at the end.
