Part of God’s plan for justice is that those who know Him would seek justice in and with their lives. The truth and authority of Scripture make the pursuit of racial justice a mandatory part of the Christian life. (Isaiah 1:17; Isaiah 56:1; Luke 10:25-37).

Join us as we hear from Justin Giboney with the AND Campaign as he shares how Unity, Clarity, Leadership, and Policy Change are critical pieces for the Church to pursue racial justice.

UNITY 

To bring Christians of all races, ages, and socioeconomic statuses together to address racial injustice.

CLARITY 

To communicate what the Bible says and where the Church stands on racial injustice without ambiguity or equivocation.

LEADERSHIP 

To take initiative and demonstrate that racial injustice is best confronted with hope and tenacity.

POLICY CHANGE 

To pursue renewal within the Church through conciliation and social renewal through non-partisan policy change.

JUSTIN GIBONEY |  AND CAMPAIGN

Justin Giboney is an attorney and political strategist in Atlanta, GA. He is also the co-founder and president of the AND Campaign, a coalition of urban Christians who are determined to address the sociopolitical arena with the compassion and conviction of the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

Giboney also served on the Urban League of Greater Atlanta Board of Directors and has written op-eds for publications such as Christianity Today and The Hill.

 

 

 

 

 

BROOKE HEMPELL |  PINKSTON

Hempell was formerly senior vice president of research for Barna, the leading research organization focused on the intersection of faith and culture. In this role, she managed the breadth of the company’s studies, including published reports on key interest topics, ongoing polls tracking Americans’ beliefs and practices, and custom studies to help businesses and non-profit organizations make better decisions.

Over the course of her two-decade career, Hempell has led market research for clients in the pharmaceutical, financial services and retail industries, including blue chip companies such as Pfizer, Bristol-Myers Squibb, American Express, Capital One, Disney and Home Depot. Much of her work has focused on communications, including groundbreaking research measuring the influence of social media in its earliest days, at Publicis Groupe’s ‘i to i research.’ She earned her degree in Business and Marketing from Cornell University.

WHERE IS COMPASSION & CONVICTION BEING HELD?

The Church & Racial Justice will take place at Hope Community Church in Downtown Minneapolis at 707 10th Ave S, Minneapolis, MN 55415.

WILL PARKING BE AVAILABLE?

Yes! We are currently working on securing parking lots for this event. Street parking will also be available.

WILL MASKS BE REQUIRED?

Yes! In accordance with the Minneapolis mandate, regulation No. 2022-1, we will be requiring masks for patrons, employees, and visitors to wear a mask in businesses and places of public accommodation. You can learn more here.

WILL VACCINATION STATUS OR A NEGATIVE COVID-19 TEST BE REQUIRED?

No, we will not be requiring registrants’ vaccination statuses, nor will we be requiring negative tests.

WHEN DOES REGISTRATION CLOSE?

Registration will close on Tuesday, March 1, 2022, at 9:00 am CST.

WILL FOOD AND COFFEE BE AVAILABLE?

No, coffee will be not be served on the evening of the 15th. If you wish to bring your own, you are welcome to do that. Thank you for understanding!

WHEN DO THE DOORS OPEN?

The doors will open at 6:15 pm on Tuesday evening. We highly encourage you to give yourself enough time to find parking, check-in at registration and find your seat.
