June 16 – 17, 23 – 24, 2022 – Healing Group + Facilitator Training

The first two days of this training (June 16-17) include the experience of participating in a trauma healing small group using the Healing the Wounds of Trauma curriculum. People with heart wounds from loss and trauma experience healing and engage with Scripture through this group which combines biblical and mental health principles.

Healing groups are led by certified facilitators and cover topics such as God’s presence in suffering, the process of grieving, and forgiveness. Adult healing groups are meant for those ages 18 and older and are not intended to be a replacement for professional mental health care.

After participating in the healing group, an individual may take the facilitator training (June 23-24). During the training, participants will determine with their trainers if they are ready to lead others through a healing group. Certification is not guaranteed. You must be able to attend all sessions of the facilitator training to be considered for certification; no exceptions will be made.

June 23 – 24, 2022 – Facilitator Training only

Participants must have first attended a healing group in order to attend the facilitator training. If you have recently completed all sessions of a healing group, you may register for the facilitator training portion only.

During the training, participants will determine with their trainers if they are ready to lead others through a healing group. Certification is not guaranteed. You must be able to attend all sessions of the facilitator training to be considered for certification; no exceptions will be made.

Below are the components of the Trauma Healing Initiative:

Healing Groups

A healing group is a safe, multi-session small group. People with deep wounds from trauma can find healing, engage with Scripture, learn to feel safe, learn to trust, and know they are valued.

Healing Groups are led by certified facilitators and cover topics such as God’s presence in suffering, grieving, and forgiveness. Adult healing groups are meant for those ages 18 and older and are not intended to be a replacement for professional mental health care.

After participating, an individual may determine with their trainer if they are ready to lead others through a healing group.

Initial Facilitator Training

Facilitator training equips people to lead Healing Groups. Participants will learn skills to know how to be safe people to those that have experienced deep pain and suffering. The training combines both biblical and mental health principles related to trauma care.

Participants must have first attended a Healing Group in order to be trained as a facilitator.

Advanced Facilitator Training

The Advanced Facilitator Training builds upon the skills already gained through the Initial Facilitator Training. Participants must have led 2 healing groups to attend an Advanced Facilitator Training. By the end of this session, trainers will be better able to solve issues arising in trauma healing as they carry out their ministries.

Healing Group + Facilitator Training

At times we will combine a Healing Group with an Initial Facilitator Training. While this is a longer time commitment there is the benefit of experiencing a Healing Froup and moving directly into Initial Facilitator Training.
