Misclassifying employees is one of the most common errors made by churches and nonprofits. This can lead to lawsuits, back pay and substantial penalties.
In recent years the IRS has increased employee classification enforcement, creating a compelling incentive for employers to reexamine whether employees are properly classified (employee vs. independent contractor; exempt vs. non-exempt).
In this training we will look at how to properly classify employees and answer questions like:
• How does this apply to youth workers or camp counselors?
• How are overnight work trips managed?
• What about travel time?
• What do I do if I have employees that are currently misclassified?
There will be time for practical application and Q&A.
