MLK Sunday Worship GatheringÂ
Sunday, January 18th, 2026 @ 6:00pm
Christ Church International
3015 13th Ave S, Minneapolis, MN 55407
Join believers from across Twin Cities churches for a night of worship, prayer, and unity as we commemorate the life and legacy of Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Rooted in Scripture and shaped by the teachings of Jesus, this gathering calls the Church to joyful worship and faithful justice.
On this MLK commemorative weekend, we remember Dr. King first and foremost as a Christian pastor whose commitment to nonviolence, human dignity, and justice flowed from deep biblical conviction, prayer, and love of neighbor. As we worship together across lines of race and ethnicity, we also bring before God the present realities facing immigrant neighbors in Minnesota—especially lawful immigrants and families experiencing fear, separation, and harm amid aggressive immigration enforcement.
Reflecting our beliefs that every person is made in the image of God and deserves respect and dignity, and that due process and the rule of law are essential to justice, we carry forward King’s nonviolent commitment—uniting across racial and ethnic lines, lamenting injustice, and embodying Christ’s reconciling love so that our worship becomes faithful justice that brings glory to God.
This night of worship will include Scripture, song, prayer, and reflection, inviting Christians to carry forward Dr. King’s biblically grounded, nonviolent legacy into our present moment. As we worship with joy and unity, we bear witness to a justice the world cannot manufacture—one shaped by Scripture, sustained by love, and anchored in the reconciling power of the gospel.
Come worship. Come pray. Come stand together as the body of Christ.
