Transform Minnesota is proud to partner with Dr. Ed Uszynski and Nina Barnes for an exclusive Transform: Live, in-person eventSkepticism & Racial Justice: Navigating through uncertainty in the conversation of race.

Transform: Live is an opportunity for local pastors and ministry leaders to connect with well-renowned biblical thought leaders through participant-led discussion and Q+A.

At this event, we will learn how we can practically engage in Biblical discussion on race and racism in a way that counters the secular discourse.

You will also have the opportunity to discuss questions such as:

          • Is it Biblical to apologize for the sins of the past?
          • Why do many believe that any conversation about race and racism is Critical Race Theory?
          • Is racial reconciliation simply a means to make white people feel guilty?
          • What does Biblical repentance look like in the context of racial reconciliation?
          • Why does the topic of race and systemic racism seem to create such strong, negative reactions at times? It appears that white majority culture Christians especially have strong reactions, why is this?
          • How does a Biblical approach to race and systemic racism differ from the secular?

Dr. Uszynski has hosted several events with Transform Minnesota previously to discuss social justice, systemic racism, Critical Race Theory and Black Lives Matter. He has an MA and M.Div. from Trinity Evangelical Divinity School and a Ph.D. in American Culture Studies from Bowling Green State University. As the Oneness and Diversity Consultant for Athletes in Action and CRU, he regularly works with pastors and ministry leaders, helping them guide the conversation of race in their context.

Nina Barnes is a board member of Transform Minnesota and the Vice President for Student Life and Human Resources at the University of Northwestern- St. Paul. She has a Master’s degree in Spiritual Formation & Leadership; along with a Bachelor’s degree in Christian Ministries. Nina holds certifications in Unconscious/Implicit Bias and Intercultural Development Inventory (IDI) as a Qualified Administrator.

This event offers an invaluable experience and environment. As an attendee, you will have the unique opportunity to engage directly with Dr. Uszynski and Nina to ask questions that are personally impacting your church, ministry, and community.
