Pastoring Christians who experience same-sex attraction requires wisdom, compassion, and a gospel-centered approach that honors both biblical truth and resonates with lived realities. This half-day leadership gathering is designed to equip pastors and church leaders to disciple these brothers and sisters well—helping them grow in faithful obedience while navigating complex questions of identity and sexuality. 

This event features teaching from Art Pereira, Director of Ministries and Events for Revoice. As a same-sex attracted man committed to celibacy due to his biblical convictions, Art will lead our dialogue with lived experience, offering us practical experience. Attendees will also hear testimonies and reflections from multiple Christians who experience same-sex attraction and have found meaningful discipleship and belonging in churches committed to biblical teaching. These stories provide valuable insight into how churches can grow in hospitality, pastoral care, and faithful formation that resonates with all members of the body of Christ. 

The gathering concludes with an introduction to Resonate—a new leadership cohort designed to equip pastors and ministry leaders with a vision for practical, relational discipleship, led by Christians who experience same-sex attraction and follow a historic Christian sexual ethic.

Art Pereira | Director of Ministries and Events at Revoice

Art Pereira is a community builder, church trainer and minister who is passionate about helping the local church provide practical support for the eternal ways of Jesus. Having spent a decade working in local church youth ministry, Art has a passion for dynamic discipleship and accessible teaching.

 

 

 

Kavan Rogness | Discipleship Director, Faith Covenant Church

Kavan Rogness is passionate about helping people engage deeply with Scripture, serving as Discipleship Director at Faith Covenant Church in Burnsville, MN since 2021. With a diverse professional background spanning construction, IT, education, healthcare, and food service, he brings rich life experience to ministry. Holding an MA in communication studies and an MDiv, Kavan authored the novel God’s Other Children in 2023. As a side B Christian who came out in 2014, he has experienced significant personal healing and growth. Committed to social causes, he raises money for clean water through marathon running with Team World Vision, sharing hope and transformation through his unique perspective.

I registered for the event, and now I am unable to attend, can I get a refund?  Can I give my ticket to a co-worker or friend?

For cancellation requests at least seven (7) calendar days before the registered event, you will receive a FULL refund. NO REFUNDS are available on cancellations less than seven (7) days prior to the event.  If you would like your registration transferred to someone else, please contact Becky at becky@transformmn.org.

What should I bring?

We encourage you to bring a notebook, pen, and a colleague.

Do I have to register now or can I do it at the door?

You must register in advance.

Will Lunch be provided?
Snacks, coffee & water will be provided on the break.  Please feel free to bring your own snack if you have dietary concerns. No meal will be provided at this event.

Will childcare be provided?

No, unfortunately, we are unable to accommodate childcare for this event.
