Across Minnesota, immigrant families in our churches and communities are suffering—living in fear and facing urgent, unmet needs. Many are afraid to leave their homes. Families have been separated, and households have lost income through detention, inability to go to work, or business slowdowns driven by heightened enforcement and fear.

The One Fund provides emergency financial support to immigrant churches and ministries in Minnesota as they respond to this crisis. Gifts to the One Fund are distributed to congregations to help them meet the urgent needs of immigrant families—especially those who are lawfully present, part of mixed-status households, or otherwise especially vulnerable—whose livelihoods have been disrupted by intensified immigration enforcement.

In 2020, The One Fund distributed nearly $1 million to Black-led churches and ministries serving Twin Cities urban communities in the wake of George Floyd’s death; today, as immigrant congregations face a new moment of crisis, we invite Christians to rise again with the same compassion, generosity, and commitment to stand with vulnerable brothers and sisters in Christ.

Eligible Recipients

Eligible recipients are churches and ministries located in Minnesota. Recipient organizations must be either a faith-based 501(c)(3) charitable nonprofit or a recognized church. No gifts will be made directly to individuals.

Grants to churches are intended to strengthen their capacity to meet urgent, short-term emergency needs arising from immigration enforcement, including loss of household income due to detention, workplace raids, or fear-driven inability to report to work.
