July 22: The Life of the Mind and the Life of the Church

Does Christian discipleship include your mind?
Can the church produce leaders for a secular culture?
Why does the university need the church?

Presented by MacLaurinCSF

Date: Tuesday, July 22

Time: 9 am – 1 pm

Place: Falcon Heights

Tickets: $30 at Eventbrite.com

LifeoftheMindIn this half-day seminar, Ken Myers will help us explore why the church needs to recover its commitment to the life of the mind as part of Christian discipleship, and why Christians in the university and in public life need the church and its theology to rightly pursue truth. Myers hosts and produces the Mars Hill Audio Journal, which helps Christians thoughtfully engage contemporary culture through interviews with leading scholars and public intellectuals. His passion for the church and for culture makes him the ideal guide for pastors, professors, and students alike—whether they’re new to these questions or have reflected on them for years.

The ticket price includes a one-year MP3 subscription to the Mars Hill Audio Journal (a $30 value) and lunch. Scholarships are available for students and others as needed; please contact Andrew at hansen@maclaurin.org for more information.

This event is co-sponsored by Transform Minnesota and the Twin Cities Christian Schools Partnership.
