Transform Minnesota’s Vision for Holy Sexuality

Transform Minnesota recognizes that today’s culture has many competing voices, each offering a different vision, identity and purpose for human sexuality. These opinions and influences are not removed from our church communities and we see the divisive nature of this topic deeply impacting church leaders and congregations. Our heart is to equip the Church in steadfast scriptural foundations while encouraging compassionate, Christ-like navigation of today’s more challenging topics. Transform’s Holy Sexuality initiative is at the center of this response.

We are all made in God’s image, and in addition to God’s design for creation and humanity, we believe He has a perfect vision for marriage and sexuality. This includes His creation of male and female in His image, marriage as a covenant between one man and one woman, and sexual intimacy to be enjoyed exclusively within this marriage covenant. This design offers us each a unique identity and purpose, through which we find true fulfillment and freedom.

While adhering to historically biblical sexual ethics, Transform Minnesota seeks to create spaces where complex issues are engaged in ways that are relevant, truthful, and informative. The Church cannot afford to shy away from uncomfortable or even controversial topics if we are to truly live out the Great Commission (Matthew 28:16–20).

We look forward to expanded Holy Sexuality programming in 2020. In February Rachel Gilson will share her testimony as a same-sex attracted believer, and in March Laurie Krieg will facilitate a leadership conference for those who want to faithfully walk alongside LGBT+ people.
