Youth and Family Services Coordinator

The Youth and Family Services Coordinator is a key role of Damascus Way’s programming that seeks to strengthen family systems, heal wounds, and help people learn to live healthy and productive lives. The Youth and Family Services Coordinator will engage in community, build relationships, and work with fathers and children in the programs of Destiny Dads and Destiny Way. The selected candidate will have great people skills, be well organized, prompt, and flexible.

Responsibilities

Program Execution & Implementation:

  • Assist Youth & Family Services Director in the creation and delivery of holistic, trauma-informed, and faith-based youth and family programming.
  • Facilitate healing circles and small group sessions with the ability to appropriately adapt the curriculum and services for changing audiences.
  • Learn and deliver evidence-based intervention and prevention content designed to strengthen family systems, build healthy connections and increase relational skills.
  • Provide service coordination with case workers, juvenile probation, and other community partners to meet client needs.
  • Help clients develop person-centered goals through individualized service case plans and case management.
  • Deliver Certified Peer Recovery services in appropriate settings and opportunities.
  • Execute all grant and contract programming requirements with integrity.
  • Work 40 hours per week with variable evenings and weekends required.

Leadership: 

  • Practice timely, efficient execution of all programs and activities.
  • Ensure all activities are conducted consistently and ethically.
  • Build connections and collaborations with government agencies, churches, non-profits, etc.
  • Lead Destiny Dads and Destiny Way group activities.
  • Display exemplary conduct and a positive attitude.

Administration:

  • Collect relevant data from meetings and engagements.
  • Create and submit a summary level report of activity in each program weekly.
  • Understand, and operate within budget while maintaining the delivery of excellent programming and services.
  • Use our evidence-based consult framework, software, and other procedures as directed.
  • Respect program participants and donor confidentiality through the safe keeping of related information.
  • Perform other work related duties as assigned by the Youth and Family Services Director.

Qualifications

Education & Experience:  

  • Undergraduate degree, preferably in Human Services, Education, or other related field.
  • Experience in leading Christian ministry preferred.

General Qualifications

  • Able to obtain Peer Recovery Specialist certification.
  • Ability to develop a keen understanding of local non-profit and civic organizations; government agencies; church / parachurch ministries; recovery, mental health, housing & employment resources; and so on; and the ability to foster cooperation and collaboration between these entities and Damascus Way.
  • Participate in all required meetings and staff activities, and other initiatives as directed.
  • Ability to model calmness under stress, while still able to confront issues when necessary.
  • Able to pass all requirements to work with vulnerable adults and minors.
