VIRTUAL TRAUMA HEALING GROUP

February 1, 3, 8, 10, 15, and 17
6:00 pm – 8:30 pm
Location: Virtual Meeting on Zoom
Materials will be shipped to you.

Transform Minnesota in partnership with the American Bible Society is excited to bring a virtual Trauma Healing Group to the network.

We all experience loss, heartache, and grief in this life. If you struggle to make peace with the wounds of your heart, we would love to have you join a Healing Group. This small-group experience is also helpful for those who walk closely with others who must cope with trauma and losses, both big and small.

The group will be led by facilitators who are trained in Bible-based trauma healing. Together, we will make a safe space for group members to:

· Discover what the Bible says about suffering

· Learn about trauma and its effects

· Explore any trauma or loss you may be carrying

· Release some of the emotional pain you carry

· Help you get unstuck, reconnected, and ready to move on in life

· Build resilience for the future

Each participant must be able to commit as each session builds upon the previous session. The group is confidential and will be closed once it begins. After attending a Trauma Healing Group, participants will receive an opportunity to become certified if they desire by attending a Facilitator Training.

Questions may be emailed to Hailey Aeikens at hailey@transformmn.org

Below are the components of the Trauma Healing Initiative:

Healing Groups

A healing group is a safe, multi-session small group. People with deep wounds from trauma can find healing, engage with Scripture, learn to feel safe, learn to trust, and know they are valued.

Healing Groups are led by certified facilitators and cover topics such as God’s presence in suffering, grieving, and forgiveness. Adult healing groups are meant for those ages 18 and older and are not intended to be a replacement for professional mental health care.

After participating, an individual may determine with their trainer if they are ready to lead others through a healing group.

Initial Facilitator Training

Facilitator training equips people to lead Healing Groups. Participants will learn skills to know how to be safe people to those that have experienced deep pain and suffering. The training combines both biblical and mental health principles related to trauma care.

Participants must have first attended a Healing Group in order to be trained as a facilitator.

Advanced Facilitator Training

The Advanced Facilitator Training builds upon the skills already gained through the Initial Facilitator Training. Participants must have led 2 healing groups to attend an Advanced Facilitator Training. By the end of this session, trainers will be better able to solve issues arising in trauma healing as they carry out their ministries.

Healing Group + Facilitator Training

At times we will combine a Healing Group with an Initial Facilitator Training. While this is a longer time commitment there is the benefit of experiencing a Healing Froup and moving directly into Initial Facilitator Training.
