Somali Outreach and Cultural Training
A great opportunity to learn more about Somali culture and ways to deal with some of the challenges that are encountered in this compelling cross-cultural ministry. Hear about lessons learned from those involved in outreach efforts; learn more about Somali culture and the struggles families face; hear how to be more effective in sharing your story and God’s story with your friend; and interact with and be encouraged by others who are reaching out in love to their Somali neighbors and friends.
Session topics include:
- Somali culture and gender roles
- Challenges facing Somali believers here, near and far
- Lessons learned by volunteers doing Somali outreach; insights from those who are sharing their lives and Jesus cross-culturally
- Somali families and their unique struggles in Minnesota
- Loving our Somali neighbors in the midst of the current immigration situation; fears, misinformation and ministry in the context of changing immigration policies
- Practical Q&A
