March 2: Standing with Refugees

STANDING WITH REFUGEES

12:30 – 2:00pm
Calvary Church – Roseville
No registration necessary.

Engage with other pastors, ministry leaders, and missionaries around this important, timely topic about Standing with Refugees – as we are both pro-security and pro-refugee.

Learn facts and ways to talk about the status of the church’s call and ability to welcome refugees.

While we have seen a lot of support for refugees from evangelical grassroots and national leaders in recent months, others are asking important questions about the safety of refugees coming to America. This session for pastors and ministry leaders will provide information on how to talk with fellow Christians about the real fears that some people have. Now more than ever in this climate of polarization, it is important to our Gospel witness that Christians are seen as people motivated by the Bible and credible information.

John Crosby, Senior Pastor at Christ Presbyterian Church will discuss the Biblical mandate for welcoming refugees and the sojourner.

Patricia Fenrick, Refugee Workforce Development and Outreach Specialist at the Minnesota Department of Human Services will present on security and vetting measures all refugees must go through.

Bob Oehrig, Executive Director at Arrive Ministries will give an overview of the refugees coming to Minnesota and address myths and misunderstandings about refugees and other immigrants in the USA.

The program will also include extended time for Q&A and stories of recently arrived refugees.

Please join this relevant conversation, ask questions, and receive resources and practical next steps for the Church and its call to welcome refugees.
