Christian Leadership Amid Cultural Conflict

Earlier this month, over 250 ministry leaders and pastors came together for Transform Minnesota and Anselm House’s lunch-time gathering, Christian Leadership Amid Cultural Conflict; A Leadership Forum with Dr. Russell Moore. Dr. Moore is a Public Theologian at Christianity Today as well as the Director of Christianity Today’s Public Theology Project; giving him unique insight on today’s climate and the Church.

Dr. Moore spoke about the state of crisis the Church is in today, remarking that youth are leaving the Church for reasons the Church is not accustomed to. “It is not so often that people walk away because they can’t believe what the Church teaches; they are walking away because they believe the Church doesn’t believe what the Church teaches.”

“It is not so often that people walk away because they can’t believe what the Church teaches; they are walking away because they believe the Church doesn’t believe what the Church teaches.”

Following his loving assessment of churches today, Dr. Moore gave a message of hope, “We need to realize that what we have for this moment ought to be an opportunity to reclaim something.”

Ministry leaders were given time to discuss with each other the current culture surrounding the Church.

One attendee said, “The forum with Dr. Russell Moore invited brave conversation about the topics that can be challenging in our day.  I left feeling better equipped with insight, perspective, and a way forward through the fray of ideological division.”
