Damascus Way Leads the Way

As 2022 comes to a close, we wanted to highlight one of our affiliate ministries, Damascus Way Reentry Center. In this letter, Damascus Way describes how their programming expanded in 2022 to continue their leadership in reentry services.

Damascus Way Reentry Center expanded our service model in 2022 as we continued to provide distinguished leadership in reentry services. Over the last year, Damascus Way has continued to pursue God’s call to love and embrace those we serve with compassion and excellence. We are firmly committed to bringing purpose, healing, and community to those in our programs.

Maintaining the success of our residents is always at the forefront of our minds. We celebrate the stories of individuals who have successfully completed the program and experienced transformation in their lives. For example, a former resident named Joe now serves as a food services coordinator at one of our sites.

This year, Damascus Way expanded our services in some very exciting ways. In November, our organization celebrated one full year of successful reentry work at our Shakopee Program. Through this program, we have been able to serve a number of men in transition on the journey towards stable employment, housing, and holistic life change. In October, Damascus Way also launched a fatherhood initiative program called “Destiny Dads,” which supports and connects dads in Scott County. Our growth also included the important acquisition of a number of valuable grants in recent months, including grants from MN Housing and the Juvenile Justice Advisory Committee.

Get Involved

As we enter 2023, we are poised to put these grants to work in meaningful ways. There are three practical ways you can get involved with Damascus Way.

  1. We solicit your prayers, specifically for the spiritual health of our staff and residents and for our staffing needs.
  2. We invite you to consider joining us in the task of ending recidivism by volunteering or working for Damascus Way.
  3. Please stay connected with us by following our Facebook page or becoming a monthly donor to our ministry!

Thank you, and Merry Christmas from all the staff at Damascus Way!
