July 19: Living Reconciliation Evening

Sponsor: The Pilgrim Center for Reconciliation

Living Reconciliation Evening

Over the entrance of many genocide memorials in Rwanda you will find an inscription with these words, “Never forget. Never again.”

The Pilgrim Center for Reconciliation was birthed in Rwanda in 1994 just months after the genocide ended there. In partnership with World Vision, God led Dr. Arthur and Molly Rouner to some exceptional leaders. These leaders, our founding Rwandan partners, Bishop Paul Ndahigwa, Pastor Gilbert Habimana, and Bishop Joseph Mugasa will be joining us for a special Living Reconciliation Evening.

For the first time ever here in the USA, Paul, Gilbert and Joseph will be sharing their remarkable story of reconciliation as Tutsi and Hutu leaders. Through their renewed lives and restored relationship, a movement of reconciliation began which has now impacted over 25,000 people and their communities in Rwanda and several other African countries.

The prophet Isaiah proclaimed that God would:

“Provide for those who grieve in Zion – to bestow on them a crown of beauty instead of ashes, the oil of joy instead of mourning, and a garment of praise instead of a spirit of despair. They will be called oaks of righteousness, a planting of the Lord for the display of his splendor. They will renew the ruined cities that have been devastated for generations.”

Isaiah 61:3-4

You have an amazing opportunity to experience the reality of this scripture lived out in and through the witness of these leaders. Come, invite a friend, and be encouraged, equipped, and empowered to be a reconciler in your community. Refreshments will be served.
