Trauma Healing Convening Sessions
On September 15 & 16, Transform Minnesota partnered with American Bible Society to host two Trauma Healing Convening Sessions. These sessions were uniquely designed to grant pastors and ministry leaders an overview of the Trauma Healing Program and how it is helping to heal communities worldwide.
Our two speakers, Rachel Uthmann, Trauma Healing Facilitator with American Bible Society and Don Gordon, Trauma Healing Master Facilitator and Executive Director of To Equip His People, led us in an overview of the Trauma Healing curriculum. We collectively explored questions such as:
- What are the needs for trauma care in your area?
- Is there a role the Church could play to help people know, as Christians, how better to respond to trauma?
- Would American Bible Society’s Bible-based materials and model be helpful in your Church or ministry?
- What would trauma healing look like in our setting?
We are deeply grateful for the opportunity to bring the Trauma Healing Initiative to the Twin Cities and look forward to the Trauma Healing Equipping Sessions on October 27 – October 30. These sessions prepare attendees to become Trauma Healing Facilitators in their communities; they will be trained in Biblical and mental health principles related to trauma care. We would love to have you join us if you are interested in being equipped to be a Trauma Healing Facilitator!
