Transform Minnesota is presenting Q Commons on Thursday October 13 at City Church in Minneapolis.
The topic this session is “Engaging the Divide,” and will feature three local speakers who will discuss practical lessons for living in a pluralistic society. Each of these local speakers will discuss pluralism: how Christians seek to live out their Christian values in a secular society.

Don Samuels is on the Minneapolis School Board. He is a former Minneapolis city council member from North Minneapolis. He co-founded the Hope Collaborative and founded the Institute for Authentic Dialogue on Race.
Topic: Creating Kingdom Culture in Polarized Society. Leadership practices that place the values of Jesus ahead of American culture.
Rob Vischer serves as the Dean of the University of St. Thomas School of Law. His scholarship explores the intersection of law, religion, and public policy, with a particular focus on the religious and moral dimensions of professional identity.
Topic: Living With Conviction in a Pluralistic World: Legal foundations & theological concepts.
Meghann Kantke is an attorney at Gray, Plant, Mooty Law Firm. She represents employers and higher education institutions as both a litigator and an advisor, assisting in a wide range of employment, labor, and student services matters.
Topic: Graceful Convictions: living well with one another when we disagree. Practical Ideas for fully engaging with others in personal and professional spheres when our beliefs are in conflict with others.
During this thoughtful conversation, speakers will touch on:
- How much cross-over they believe there should be of Christian values in our secular culture?
- Where do Christians need to have a voice in policy-making?
- Where should our Christian values dictate our personal decisions?
