Why
We believe NOW is the time in history for the Good News of the Kingdom of Jesus to break through into the nation of Somalia. Let’s come together asking the Lord to give us boldness to preach while He demonstrates His power in healing and other miracles.
The Book of Acts has 28 chapters but the book ends somewhat abruptly reminding us that the Story of the Acts of the Holy Spirit is continuing until the Good News of Jesus has been preached in the entire world and Jesus comes back as King of kings.
How
Let’s read again each chapter of Acts in preparation for this night of prayer in anticipation of what God wants to do in Somalia.
Our prayer for Somalia is from Acts 4: 29-31,
“...Now, O Lord, hear their threats, and give us, your servants, great boldness in preaching your word. Stretch out your hand with healing power; may miraculous signs and wonders be done through the name of your holy servant Jesus.” After this prayer, the meeting place shook, and they were all filled with the Holy Spirit. Then they preached the word of God with boldness.
The book of Acts has a bit of hidden theme to it – boldness. How many times do you think the word bold shows up in Acts?
Sometimes in reaching out to our Somali neighbors we can feel fear guiding us instead of God. Sometimes we sense a leading of courageous love, and we doubt… we wait… we wonder and waffle.
On Friday night, February 24th, SALT is calling together SALT volunteers, and any others reaching out to our Muslim neighbors, to a time of prayer, worship, and a question: is God calling us to a time of boldness?
