Dismantling Racism with Dr. Ruben Rivera
A biblically-rooted process to help the Church recognize racial bias, reorient our hearts, and reconcile communities to Christ and each other.
Engage in the large context of the universal human fallen condition; discover the ways in which we miss God’s call to remarkable Christianity. Only then, will we be ready for what comes next in this multi-step developmental process of dismantling racism.
Next, explore how we are all captive to conscious and unconscious institutionalized and cultural forms of in-group bias, ethnocentrism, racism and other expressions of inequality and oppression. This Biblical approach will help us recognize and understand racial bias and racism in ourselves and society.

He is Chief Diversity Officer and has taught for many years at Bethel University in Saint Paul, Minnesota. The “Shalom Seminar” he created for Bethel employees has been called a “new paradigm” in diversity training and is the basis for developing biblically grounded, culturally intelligent, transformative leaders and organizations.
