Soul ShopTM for Youth Workers
Ministering to those impacted by suicidal depression, focusing on youth
Soul ShopTM is a one-day training to equip adults working with youth. In this course, you will gain a better understanding of the truth about suicide and people who experience suicidal thinking. You’ll practice conversation skills to be welcoming and supporting to those affected by suicide, and you’ll be equipped to train others in suicide awareness and share resources with congregation members. You’ll learn what the Bible says about suicide and how God gives us powerful gifts to offer youth the hope and social connection they need. An invitation will be extended to those who have been suicidal in the past to share their stories of struggle and hope.
Soul ShopTM equips congregational leaders to minister to those impacted by suicidal desperation including:
- Adults and youth who are considering suicide
- Family members and friends who are anxious about a person who may be considering suicide
- Persons who have lost a loved one to suicide
- Second Day people – those who have been suicidal in the past but have found a way out of suicidal thinking
The intended audience is adults who interact with youth on a regular basis, including teachers, parents, coaches, grandparents, youth ministers and pastors.
